Easter

Hard to believe that Easter weekend has already come and gone for the year. Last year we welcomed Eleanor Faith to the world on Easter weekend. Easter was special to me before, but now after Eleanor’s arrival a year ago, it means so much more to me. Eleanor Faith you were an Easter miracle and we love you!
This year for Easter we loaded up and headed to Cedar Falls. It is fun for all of us to get together and have the Hummel cousins play. Payton and Hudsen have SO much fun together and the little girls seem to really enjoy being together too. They all laughed and giggled most of the weekend. On Saturday we were planning on going flying, but the weather turned out to be too bad so we scratched that idea and just played around the house instead. Sunday we all made it to church and survived! It is a little difficult having two 3 year olds sit next to each other in church but they both did a good job. Eleanor slept through most of the church service so that was nice to enjoy her sleeping on me. That never happens so I should take it in while I can. We then went to Grandma and Grandpa Dave’s for brunch and had an Easter egg hunt. Hudsen and Payton loved the Easter egg hunt. Uncle Brandon took Hudsen on a lawn mower ride (which Hudsen thought was a tractor). Hudsen’s smile was from ear to ear. After the Easter egg hunt, we headed back to Waukee. Uncle Jeff, Aunt Lina and Ben came over a little later and we did another Easter egg hunt in our back yard. Hudsen was better at finding the eggs than I was!
Surprisingly we made it through Easter without having any sugar comas! I had my one Cadbury Crème Egg (which I love!), Hudsen had a few M&Ms, Eleanor stayed away from the candy but so enjoyed the egg casserole at brunch, and Jarren only had a few Reese’s peanut butter bites. It was a great Easter weekend and judging by the smiles in the pictures, the kids really enjoyed themselves too!
