Fun in February

The weather this February has really led to some fun days outside. This weekend the weather was about 50 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday. Grandma Pat and Grandpa Gary came to stay with us this weekend. Jeff, Lina, Ben and their cousin Michael came to visit on Saturday afternoon and we quickly got outside to play. What could be better on a February afternoon than bubbles and a snowball-fight. I don’t know who had more fun, Hudsen, the adults or Charley. On Sunday the weather was so great that Hudsen and Dad went outside in the afternoon and played basketball. Dad had to get ready for his championship game that night (which his team ended up winning!).

It was still just a little too cold outside for Eleanor, but she still had fun inside playing with Mom. One of her favorite things to do right now is to play with the stackable toys. She likes to bang them together, chew them and knock them over when Hudsen stacks them up. Hudsen loves to watch her do this. They are both such great players!

Valentine’s Day was also this week. Hudsen had a great time bringing in cards to give his friends at school. He also sent his teachers flowers. His teachers really thought that was nice. Both kids wore their red that day and they were both very happy with their gifts they got from Mom and Dad. Hudsen got a pair of Chunnington socks (which he wants to wear every day!) and a Chunnington book. Eleanor got a pair of tinkerbell socks and some puffs. She LOVES her puffs!

Today Jarren starts his new job at Des Moines University. I can’t wait to hear how his first day goes. What a great new chapter in his career. So proud of him!

February has really started slipping away! This weather has been so nice; it is hard to believe sometimes that we are in winter. Although the kid’s runny noses remind me of it daily :) Hudsen did get a chance this Saturday to spend some time outside with his Uncle Jeff, while Lina, Eleanor and I spent the morning inside in the nice weather. Eleanor did want to get outside and see what those boys were up to. Maybe next year!

Eleanor had her first ear infection (in fact it was a double ear infection). I took her in on the 3rd thinking that she was just not taking her bottle very well and at some points she felt warm. At the appt she had a temp of 102 and the doctor said both ears were infected. She was such a trooper. Even with a double ear infection, she still wasn’t that fussy. She is back to normal now. Her nose is even less stuffy (but still runny). Her teeth are coming in great and don’t seem to be bothering her. Hopefully that continues!

Sunday night we had a Superbowl party. I was planning on taking some pictures but ended up forgetting to get the camera out. Hudsen wore his Dolphins football outfit (he wore the same one to school on Friday and I did get a picture then). At the party was: Derek, Liz, Caden and Ellie Mueller, Jen, Ben and Adelyn Chadwick, Adam, Julie and Brooklyn Behrends, Casey, and Kat. The kids had a GREAT time all playing together. It was so much fun to just hang out and see the older kids play and the babies just look at each other (oh and to watch the game ;)
