Trick or treating was a success! Both kids had a great time. Eleanor started to get a little fussy at the end but it was getting time for her feeding/bed time. Hudsen was a spaceship and Eleanor wore Hudsen old costume as a teddy bear. I figured it is probably the only time I will be able to pass down something between the kids that is pretty gender neautral. They both looked very cute in their costumes!

We went over to Uncle Brandon and Aunt Kari's. Uncle Brandon made bat stew for dinner. It tasted a lot like chilli and was really good. Uncle Kasey and Aunt Morgan were there too with Isabella. We all went trick or treating together. Hudsen and Payton lead the way and looked like they were really enjoying themselves. When we got home Hudsen got to chose one thing out of his pumpkin and he chose CARS pretzels. No surprise there.

In other news, yesterday Eleanor and I went to Cedar Falls with Kari and Grace for a baby shower for Isabella. The shower was great and all 3 little girls had a good time. Hudsen and Jarren had a dad and son day. They went to landfill, shot hoops, and rode the tric around the block. It has been a great weekend!

On Tuesday Eleanor had her 6 month check up. It went really well although she was not to fond of the shots. She was 80th percentile for weight, 70th for height and 77th for head circumference. She is growing really well. She has had a good week at Amy’s. She is still very much liking her veggies and is eating really well for Amy. Amy has 3 boys and Eleanor loves to watch them run around just like she likes watching her brother and dog run around when we get home. She likes to see the action!

On Tuesday night we watched Brooklyn Behrends. Hudsen was pretty excited for Brooklyn to come over and play. Brooklyn is ~17 mnths. Hudsen read her a book and built forts with her. They were both really good kids. Then on Wednesday Grandma Pat came over to visit since she was in Des Moines for a conference. It was just a short visit but it was still really good to see her! She got some big Hudsen hugs.

Today Hudsen had a costume parade at school. It was so cute to see the kids in their costumes. Hudsen is a space ship this year that Grandma Pat made. It was one of the more unique costumes there. The number one costume was Buzz Lightyear, with Lightening McQueen pretty close behind. Hudsen thought his space ship costume was pretty cool. Eleanor is going to be a bear for Halloween. I’m not sure what she is going to think of Hudsen in his space ship costume 

On Monday Hudsen had his first field trip with his school. He went to the Apple Orchard. I was lucky enough to be a chaperone. We had a lot of fun. There were 15 kids that went. They were all very excited to ride in the school bus. Once we got there a lady told a story. Then we all rode around in a hay rack and came back to have some apple juice. It was really fun to see Hudsen hang out with his friends and to be in his element.

Today is Eleanor’s 6 month appt. It will be great to see what her stats are. It is fun to see where she is in comparison to where Hudsen was at this age. At her 4 month check up she was one pound less than what Hudsen was at 4 months and 1 inch longer. Hudsen was a tank 

Eleanor is 6 months and Hudsen is almost 3!

We can hardly believe that our little girl is now 6 months old! She is just growing up like a little champ. We had her Early Access appt. (appts she has because she was a premie) on the 18th and she did awesome! She is right on track with everything. Looking at her you would never know that she was a premie. She is a great little eatter too. She just had her first veggies today and LOVED the green beans. This also lead to a bath right after the feeding :) Right now Eleanor goes to bed between 6:30 and 7 pm and Daddy gets her out of bed around 7 am. Most of the time she wakes up around 6 am when we do but she just "talks" in her crib. She loves watching Hudsen and Charley play around. Right now she is definitely my calm child :)

It is also hard to believe that Hudsen is going to be 3 in December! He is being a great older brother. Right now he has given Eleanor the nickname of Baby Ella. We believe this is b/c one of his friends in school has a sister named Ella. Hudsen still loves watching sports with Dad. Last night Hudsen and I watched a football and he was a little frustrated that I could not tell him what each player was doing. Right now Hudsen is getting very excited about trick or treating. He is going to be a space rocket. Which at the current time he says he wants to fly space rockets when he grows up. We'll see :)

Having 2 kids adds more excitement at the Hummel house. Busy season for Jarren is right around the corner and I'm sure that will be quit interesting this year. I'm sure there will be lots of forts built and Cars/Toy Story watched :)
