Wedding

On July 14th we went to Clear Lake for my Uncle Tony's wedding. It was a very beautiful wedding and tons of fun! The kids took a nice little nap on the way to Ames to pick up Jeff and Lina. They were resting up for a night of fun! On the way back we did not have as full of a car as Hudsen went with Gpa Gary and Gma Pat to their house for the week (post to follow with pictures of that week of adventures :).

Gma Pat and Gpa Gary brought Hudsen a brief case of little toys for him to play with. That kept him very entertained during the ceremony. Eleanor traveled back and forth for a little bit during the wedding cermony, but all in all, both kids were very good and quiet (I was a little nervous about that).

That night the kids had a great time on the dance floor and really enjoyed staying at the hotel. It was so cute seeing Hudsen dance with Eleanor and Eleanor walking up to everyone just to say hi. She is not shy at all! Both kids slept hard that night as they were tired from all the dancing! Jarren and I even danced a little too. It was a really fun night!

Hot days!

This summer has had some really hot days. Most days have hit heat index on over 100! It takes some creativity but the kids and I stay pretty busy in the afternoons. We have gone to the park (when it is not crazy hot), lots of coloring and painting, car rides around the house, and plenty of reading. There have also been trips to the grocery store and to the library. Also dance parties have been a must! The days go by so fast! I still feel so lucky to be able to spend the afternoons with my kids and get to share these memories with them.

Birthday party and flying

This weekend we were back in Cedar Falls. We had a birthday party on Saturday night for Peyton Meyers and some fun at the pool for Hudsen and Payton. On Sunday morning we went out flying with Grandpa Dave. I was able to be in the Pilot seat and fly. It was great and Hudsen loved it too. Below are some pics from the week and weekend.

This year we went to the pond in Allison for the 4th and then to Cedar Falls for a little bit. There was fishing, swimming, and lots of fun! Here are some of the pictures from the day.

Summer time FUN

With the summer time has come hot hot weather! This week the average temp was 97 and it felt even hotter than that. This led to some creativity with activities for the kids in the afternoon and the weekend. We colored A LOT, worked on spelling and read all the Berenstein books at least twice. There were trips to the library and the grocery store. Some fun in the pool and Lego building. On Sunday, Hudsen and I went to the Botanical Center. He loved it. We will have to visit again with Dad and Eleanor when it is not so toasty outside.
